Abstract

540,850. Grinding and polishing. HARRISON & SONS, Ltd., T. S., and ASHTON, G.B. Aug. 30, 1940, No. 13631. [Class 60] Tool rests or work supports, of the type comprising a til ing table and a base fixed to the machine bed, the table and base being formed with co-operating arcuate surfaces, have the forward edge of the table coincident with the axis of the arcuate surfaces. The rest table 1 is bolted to a hollow section 3 of about 60 degrees angle, the edge of the table nearest the wheel 7 being the axis of the arcuate surfaces 4. A bolt 9 passes through a hole in the base 6 and a slot 8 in the section and permits adjustment as indicated by a scale 14. The bolt has a washer 10 curved to fit the section and retained by lock nuts 11. Clamping is effected by a screwed handle 13.
