Abstract

700,800. Trueing grinding-wheels. HOFMANN, E. F. Sept. 11, 1952 [Sept. 19, 1951], No. 22840/52. Class 60 A device for trueing a grinding-wheel. 12 comprises a casing 10, a pivoted double-armed lever 52, one arm of which is connected with the trueing tool 32 to effect movement in one direction, and the other arm of which is connected with a camway 38 to effect movement of the tool 32 in a second direction, and an operating handle 54 connected to the lever 52 by a spindle 50 projecting into the casing 10 in a dust-proof manner. The tool 32 is mounted in a slidable, spring-loaded bush 28 having a feeler 36 engaging the camway 38. The latter and the bush 28 are mounted on slides 20, 40 which are displaced in opposite directions in guide grooves 16, 18 when the handle 54 is swung, the tool 32 cutting the wheel 12 according to the profile of the camway 38 and on a reduced scale. A plate 26 and a cap 34 protect the moving parts against grinding dust. A cover (not shown) is attached by screws 14 to the casing 10 which has guides for adjustable connection to the grinding machine table. The range of movement of the sliders 20, 40 can be varied by altering the arms of the lever 52.
