Abstract
418,868. Grinding. AKT.-GES. F. WUNDERLI MASCHINENFABRIK, Uster, Switzerland. Nov. 6, 1933, No. 30831. Convention date, Nov. 4, 1932. [Classes 60 and 124.] In a grinding-machine comprising a grinding- wheel 2 and a frame 1, a device is provided whereby a piece of work, or a trueing-tool may be moved across the operative surface of the wheel. The device comprises two parallel leaf springs 4, 5 secured to a plate 3 adapted to be screwed on the frame and carrying a member 6 on which is pivoted at 8 an elbow lever 7 supporting a trueing-tool 9 and adjustable by a screw 10 ; in place of the trueing-tool, a workholder may be secured to the member 6. In operation, the tool 9 or work-holder is moved across the wheel. In a modification, for operation with a cup-shaped grinding-wheel, the member 6 supports a table on horizontal pivots parallel to the flat face of the wheel and adjustable about the pivots by worm gearing ; the trueing-tool or the work is supported by the table. In a further modification, the springs are replaced by parallel pivoted links connected by a transverse link and acted upon by springs tending to hold the parallel links in central position.
