Abstract

837,129. Pneumatic conveyers. SIMON Ltd., H. July 10, 1958 [July 23, 1957; Nov. 7, 1957], Nos. 23247/57 and 34692/57. Class 78 (1). Material is conveyed through a flexible tube e by the progressive squeezing action of rollers a, which are mounted in a revolving frame c, and by fluidizing it by air under slight pressure admitted through the pipe m which is situated beyond the part of the tube e on which the rollers operate. The tube e is supported by a plate f, which at one end is pivoted to the casing at g and at the other rests against a resilient support h. The face of the tube engaged by the rollers may be reinforced by wear-resisting material such as P.V.C. impregnated nylon fabric. In a modification the tube is divided longitudinally by a partition and the part nearest the plate f is used to supply air for fluidization by the pumping action of the rollers.
