In a positive-pressure system for conveying material through a ring system f, h, Fig. 1, to a multiplicity of receptacles g according to the parent Specification, air-lock feeders m other than rotary cell-wheels are provided for releasing material from the receptacles g. The feeders may be of the type shown in Fig. 1 having sequentially opened valves n, p and a scavenging air inlet t. Alternatively the material may be released through a solids pump comprising a flexible tube engaged by eccentrically moving rollers as described in Specification 837,129.
