Abstract

1,035,584. Pneumatic conveyers. GATTYS TECHNIQUE S.A. March 9, 1965 [March 11, 1964], No. 9856/65. Addition to 1,017,218. Heading B8A. A pneumatic conveyer for bulk material (see Parent Case 1,017,218) comprises a gas-impermeable bulk material duct 1, a gas supply pipe 2 parallel and exterior to the duct 1, a plurality of gas supply conduits 6 extending at intervals from the pipe 2 into the interior of the duct 1 and provided with self-sealing apertures 9. The end 8 of each conduit 6 is blocked and the apertures 9 formed in the resilient material of the conduit open under an excess of gas pressure in the conduit. The self-sealing apertures may be formed in resilient plugs in a rigid conduit. The embodiment of Fig. 2 (not shown) comprises the gas supply pipe 2 and the conduits 6, all inside the duct 1. In the embodiment of Fig. 3 (not shown), the gas supply pipe 2 is exterior to the duet 1 and the conduits 6 are formed by pipes extending from the pipe 2 into the duct 1 and having the self-sealing valve in the end of the pipe 6 facing the direction of conveyance of the bulk material. Alternatively the conduits 6 comprise straight pipes inclined in the direction of conveyance from pipe 2 to duct 1 and have a selfsealing valve in the end thereof.
