Abstract

756,233. Pneumatic conveyers. T.M.M. (RESEARCH), Ltd. Feb. 22, 1955 [March 1, 1954], No. 5902/54. Class 78 (1). In a conveyer for fibrous textile materials the fibres are distributed substantially uniformly over the surface of a rotary condenser cage 11 by the action of a deflector 14 placed in a flared part 13 of the conduit. The deflector is tubular and of streamlined cross-section. It is provided with an aperture 141 through which a current of air passes into the throat of the casing to prevent deposition of fibres on its upstream surface. This deposition may also be avoided by rocking or vibrating the deflector either constantly or intermittently. Shutters 15 are pivotally mounted on opposite sides of the part 13 and are adjusted to vary its cross-sectional area. Specifications 706,043 and 735,172, [both in Group IX], are referred to in the Provisional Specification.
