873,542. Endless conveyers. SOVEX Ltd. Aug. 25, 1959 [Aug. 27, 1958], No. 27442/58. Class 78 (1). Articles are conveyed downwardly by at least one endless conveyer band having a downwardly moving steep operative flight, a fluid-filled envelope being arranged opposite the article-engaging or non-article-engaging face of the band to press the articles against the band or vice versa, respectively. As shown, a pair of endless bands 1, 2 having adjacent downwardlymoving flights are arranged to grip the articles between them, the band 1 being pressed towards the band 2 to grip the articles by a porous or leaky bag 3 within which air is maintained under a pre. determined pressure by a continuouslydriven fan 14. A con. verging portion 6 of the band 2 is provided to facilitate feeding of the articles to the bands.
