Abstract
The feed device for a belt conveyor ensures, in a technically simple manner, uniform frictional engagement between belt conveyor and workpiece along the feed device. The feed device comprises a retaining strip (10) open at the bottom, one or more pressure hoses (14) with air supply and exhaust, and a strip-shaped pressure-transmitting member (13) in contact with the belt conveyor (6). When the air is evacuated from the pressure hose (14), the contact pressure on the belt conveyor (6), and hence the conveying action of the latter, is discontinued.
