Abstract

769,242. Pneumatic conveyers. SUPERIOR SEPARATOR CO. March 22, 1955, No. 8371/55. Class 78 (1). A pocketed wheel discharger 8, Fig. 2, for a bin B rotates in a cylindrical casing 6 which at one end is provided with an inlet 17b for compressed gas and at the bottom is formed with a substantially-oblong outlet 18 of approximately half the length of a pocket. The blades 8b, Fig. 4, of the discharger have thickened ends and are slotted to receive slidable bronze tips 8c which are thrust outwardly by resilient means, such as elastic sponge rubber pads 15. The inlet 17b has at one end a flanged cylindrical socket 17a for receiving the end of the gas supply pipe 16 and at the other end a kidney-shaped outlet 17c extending over slightly more than two pockets. A circular plate 9 is forced into contact with one end of the wheel by springs 10 mounted in pockets in the end wall of the housing.
