806,332. Endless-belt conveyers. SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN A.B. Oct. 19, 1956, No. 31917/56. Class 78 (1). In an endless-band conveyer 2, which is moved intermittently for transporting piece goods 3, jerky running of the band is prevented by arranging an air distributing chamber 4 below the working run and supplying air through its perforated top 4a towards the underface of the band to support it, the air current being reversed at the loading and unloading times in order to slow up and hold the belt against the top of the chamber. A similar chamber 5 may be provided below the return run. The chambers are connected by a hood 9 and ducts 10, 13, 14 to a motor-driven fan 16. The air current is reversed by turning the valve 12 through an angle of 90 degrees. Two fans, one suction and one pressure, can be connected alternately to the chambers.
