Abstract

798,784. Hopper discharge. PLANIOL, R. J. H. Jan. 6, 1955 [Jan. 19, 1954], No. 418/55. Class 78 (1). Material in hopper 1 is discharged through outlet 2 controlled by valve 12, adjusted by knob 18 and rotated by driven gear-wheel 20. Material is fed in at 10 and compressed air enters at 3 and escapes at 7, the valve 12 being provided with paddles 29 and the hopper being provided with baffles 28. Additionally, gas enters through apertures 2A (not shown), at the base of the hopper in order to fluidize the material.
