Abstract
876,162. Pneumatic conveyers. BRITISH OXYGEN CO. Ltd. Jan. 29, 1960 [Feb. 5, 1959], No. 4095/59. Class 78 (1). Apparatus for dispensing powdered materials comprises a pressure-tight hopper A, the outlet 12 from which is spaced from the perforated top wall 13 of an entrainment chamber 14 containing an injector nozzle 19 for air. The top wall forms the mouth of the discharge pipe 20 for the material. The convergent part 11 of the hopper is connected to the side walls of the chamber 14 by a wall B and the chamber 17 so formed is supplied with air through the pipe 25. Air is supplied to the hopper at a point above the level of the powder through the pipe 24.
