Abstract

815,882. Pneumatic conveyers. VACUBLAST Ltd. July 31, 1957 [Aug. 31, 1956], No. 24313/57. Class 78 (1). Material is discharged from a hopper 10 by air under pressure supplied to an annular passage 23 between the conical bottom 11 and an annular member 21. A high-velocity annular curtain of air sweeps downwards over the surface of the part 11 and directs the material towards the gaps between the mouth of the delivery pipe 31 and an air nozzle 32. The nozzle is mounted slidably in a stuffing-box 33 and is moved to regulate the supply of material or to bring its frusto-conical end 37 into contact with the end 38 of the pipe 31 to stop the discharge.
