Abstract

855,392. Pneumatic conveyers. LAZARETH, C. May 22, 1958 [Oct. 8, 1957; Dec. 12, 1957], No. 16550/58. Class 78/1. Material is discharged from a container 1 having a convergent lower part 5 into a chamber 6 forming part of a conveyer conduit 11 by compressed air supplied to the upper part of the chamber by a pipe 10 and is blown from the chamber by compressed air discharged axially into the chamber from the supply pipe 8. The pipe 10 is connected to the pipe 8 upstream of a valve 9 thereon and is of smaller diameter than the pipe 8. The area of the outlet 7 in the bottom of the part 5 may be varied by sliding and rotating a tube 15, Fig. 2, inserted in the chamber.
