Abstract

331,322. Constantin, E. J. L. F. May 7, 1929. Pneumatic conveyers.-A method of conveying pulverulent material, which has been fluidified by injected compressed air, consists in injecting compressed air into the lower portion of the fluidified mixture to maintain the flow of the mixture under the effect of gravity. Compressed air from a supply pipe 7 is injected into the feed hopper 1 through pipes 8, into the outlet chamber 3 through a pipe 9, and into the discharge pipes 4 through a pipe 10, an ejector 11 at the bottom of the outlet chamber carrying the suspended mixture into the discharge pipes opening into receiving hoppers 6. After the initial fluidifying of the mixture, the air supply to the ejector is reduced or stopped, and the air supply to the pipes 8, 9 and 10' is reduced to an amount just sufficient to maintain the mixture fluidified, the mixture then flowing by gravity. Pressure gauges and control valves are provided as required.
