A box and lid of the kind having apertures formed in both the box and the lid so that on closing the box one or more pairs of corresponding apertures are brought into registry, has one or more foldable masking tabs 30 integral with or secured to the box and/or lid and adapted to form a movable cover for one or more of the pairs of registering apertures to control the ventilation of the box. To close an aperture 26 its tab 30 is folded over so that it lies between a side flap 7 of the wall 5 and extension 11 of the side wall panel 9 and covers the selected aperture 26. Extension 11 is folded into the box and secured in place by pressing holding tabs 13, 14 into the box. In a modification side flaps 7, 8 are provided without apertures and form the masking tabs. Flap 7 can be folded on to itself about fold lines 57 or 58 (not shown) so that either aperture 27 or both apertures 26 and 27 respectively are open. In a further modification, Fig. 3, the lid 41 is formed integral with the box 40. Each side wall 42, 43 has two apertures 44 and one aperture 45 cut at low and high levels respectively and the lid has apertures 45<SP>1</SP> corresponding to apertures 45. Two masking tabs 47, 48 are cut from the lid 41 and can be folded over about lines 52 to lie between the lid and the box so that apertures 44 and 45 are opened and closed respectively.
