Abstract

942,940. Cartons with pouring spouts. METAL BOX CO. Ltd. Nov. 23, 1961 [Nov. 25, 1960], No. 40665/60. Heading B8P. A cardboard carton is closed at one end by means of an inner flap 11 and an outer flap 10 hinged to opposite sides of the carton, the outer flap 10 having an opening 18 and the inner flap 11 having a spout, comprising a bottom 20 and hingedly connected sides 23, 24 provided with stop portions, which underlies the opening 18 and has a tab 22 extending from the bottom 20 to overlie the flap 10. The opening 18 may be rectangular or have opposite sides converging towards the outer edge of the flap 10. The spout may be provided with slits in continuation of the sides of the tab 22, these slits engaging corresponding slits in the flap 10. In a modification, corner closing flaps may be provided.
