980,551. Opening boxes by tearing. ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH) Ltd. Aug. 10, 1961 [Aug. 12, 1960], No. 27915/60. Heading B8P. A tubular carton is formed from a single blank and comprises a sealing tab glued at parts 23 to the outer side of wall 14 and having perforations extending across the side wall 11 and the sealing tab so that the box can be opened by lifting the intermediate portion 24 of the flap. The box may contain a wrapped charge of tobacco and after opening, the intermediate portion may be replaced between this charge and the inside of wall 14 to close the box. The wall 14 may have a notch cut out at its top edge to facilitate re-opening. Specification 527,155 is referred to.
