Abstract

1,084,627. Moulded egg boxes. PACKAGING CORPORATION OF AMERICA. March 4, 1966 [March 5, 1965], No. 9691/66. Heading B8P. A moulded carton, e.g. an egg box comprises a hinged cover having a depending wall provided with an aperture, said aperture having a perimetric portion offset inwardly from the exposed surface of the wall when the cover is in the closed position, and a latching flap hinged to a side of the box portion in registration with said depending wall when the cover is in the closed position, said flap being then disposed behind the said depending wall and having a portion in abutting interlocking engagement with said aperture offset portion. In the closed and fastened position no portion of the latching flap protrudes beyond the surface of the co-operating wall of the cover. Several forms of apertures and latching flaps are described.
