Abstract

1,097,804. Hinged lids. FIELD SONS & CO. Ltd. Dec. 16, 1966 [May 6, 1966], No. 20006/66. Heading B8P. A cardboard or like box 35 and lid 36 are hinged together by a cardboard &c. hinge panel 20 adhered to the outer faces of the walls and formed with a hinge at the junction of the box and lid, the hinge panel being formed with spaced incisions which cross the panel hinge to define a strut 5 which deflects on opening of the lid to support it in the fully open position. The strut may have an intermediate hinge line 8, or it may be free from the panel at one end, Fig. 6 (not shown). In another embodiment there are two struts spaced along the panel hinge.
