Abstract

773,138. Cartons. FIELD SONS & CO., Ltd. Dec. 16, 1955 [Oct. 29, 1955], No. 31005/55. Class 18. A collapsible cardboard carton has two opposed wider walls 1, 2 hinged at opposite sides to two narrower walls 3, 4 and has a closure flap 6 at each end hinged to one of the wider walls 1 along a curved hinge line 9. When the flaps are turned in upon erection of the carton, they hold the wider walls 1, 2 in bowed condition. Preferably closure flaps 7, are also hinged to the other wide wall 2 and the co-operating flaps at each end interlock by means of a central extension at the middle of the free edge of one entering a slit round the middle of the hinge line of the other, by a tab cut into the outer contour of one entering a slot inset from the hinge of the other or by forming the free edge of one flap with a projection to interlock with a recess formed in the free edge of the other.
