Abstract

585,606. Cartons. ARKLE, F. M., and MURRAY, E. G. July 3, 1944, No. 12601. [Class 18] The closure of a carton is hinged at 29 to the rear wall and has an extension 12 overlapping a portion of the front wall with yieldable locking means comprising a tongue 17 engaging an abutment 31. To facilitate access, part of the front wall is cut away and the rear wall is slit to provide a hinged flap 33. The tongue may be on the front wall and the abutment on the extension 12 and the tongue may be a separate piece secured by glue.
