A rectangular carton has a flap 5 hinged to the rear wall 1 to close the box opening 7, the flaps 5 having a portion 5b engageable in a transverse opening 8 in the front wall 4, which is cut away as at 17. The flap portion 5b may have only a tongue (20, Fig. 5, not shown) engageable in a short aperture (8a) in the front wall 4 of the box.
