Abstract

979,302. Cartons. ALLEN DAVIES & CO. Ltd. June 26, 1962 [June 12, 1961], No. 21186/61. Addition to 916,012. Heading B8P. The shell and slide carton of the parent Specification, in which the slide has a hinged portion which is moved angularly when the slide is withdrawn from the shell, is modified in that the front end-forming panel 4 of the slide 2 is permanently attached to the side walls of the slide and the hinged portion 10 of the slide forms a lid on the top wall panel 8 of the slide in the closed position. The hinged portion 10 is defined by a line of weakening 9 and the panels 8, 10 are cut to provide a tongue 14 hinged at 15 and having an enlarged portion engaging a slit 21 in the top panel 17 of the shell. When the slide is pushed out of the shell the portion 10 automatically moves to the position shown and articles can be withdrawn from the slide, and when the slide is pushed in the portion 10 closes to form a lid for the slide.
