789,928. Cartons. FEDERATED DEPARTMENT STORES, Inc. March 12, 1956, No. 7626/56. Class 18. A carton has outwardly sloping side walls joined at the corners by gummed paper &c. and a hinged lid having free flaps of trapezoidal shape on the front and side edges, these flaps fitting within the carton when closed. The lid mav have a fourth flap secured to the rear carton wall. The carton may be held closed by projections 45 on lid fiaps 38, 39 entering cutouts 42 in the carton wall 35. Alternatively the lid front flap may enter a slot in the carton front wall. Walls 33, 34 may be cut for part of their thickness as at 37 to facilitate shaping of the carton during manufacture. The cartons may be stacked with their bodies nested and flattened lids substantially at right angles thereto.
