Abstract

927,238. Cartons. FIELD, SONS & CO. Ltd., and N. KAYE. May 23, 1961 [Sept. 9, 1960; Dec. 31, 1960], Nos. 31052/60 and 44897/60. Class 18. A cardboard box lid has flanges 2, 4 hinged to the sides of the panel 1 along hinge lines 3, 5 which are bowed so that when the lid is erected the panel 1 becomes domed, the flanges being inclined inwardly away from the domed panel. Tabs 11 coated on their underside with self adhesive are secured to similarly coated areas 12 to keep the blank erected. In a further embodiment the flanges are stiffened by turning over the edges. Corner panels may be provided between adjacent flanges each having connecting tabs having adhesive on their lower faces. The lid may be diamond shape or hexagonal.
