Abstract

830,534. Can carriers. FIELD SONS & CO. Ltd., and WEAR, E. March 17, 1958 [Aug. 27, 1957], No. 26936/57. Classes 94(1) and 133. A can carrier comprises a sheet of cardboard folded at 40 and 41 to form a back panel 42 and a front panel consisting of flaps 43, 44 glued together. The front panel is provided with hinge lines 45, 46 having incisions 47 along them, spaced so as to engage the runs of cans at one end only when the carrier is placed on top of them, bent along further hinge lines 48, 49 and 50. The provisional Specification also describes, Figs. 1-10 (not shown), a carrier folded up into open prismatic form from a cardboard sheet scored to form five panels, corresponding faces of two panels being coated with self adhesive ; slots or incisions may be provided to engage the rims of the cans, and the carrier may be secured by tongue-and-slot or like means instead of by adhesive. In further embodiments described in the provisional Specification, handholes are provided, and two similar carriers may be secured adhesively back-to-back.
