Abstract

Description

The present invention relates to the technical field of packaging and it

  more particularly, the packaging cases which are intended to package various products.

  More specifically, the invention relates to cases or packaging boxes which are made from pre-cut raw material blanks and then folded to form the actual packaging.

  As a preferred application, the invention relates to packaging boxes made from cardboard blanks, preferably compact, without this precision excluding corrugated cardboard or similar products, such as laminated plastic sheets or not.

  In the above field, it is widely known to produce the packaging boxes for various products from blanks of appropriate raw material, cut flat and then folded to form, on the one hand, a box body for forming a receiving container of the product or products to be packaged and, on the other hand, a bell cover adapted to the box body so as to close it.

  Such boxes can then be made from compact cardboard blanks which are shaped to define the body and the lid of a rectangular box, without being excluded from adopting another polygonal shape.

  Thus, the box body has a bottom, bordered by side panels which define a peripheral belt on which the lid is fitted. The cover, meanwhile, is made from a pre-cut blank and mounted by folding to include a back, of general polygonal shape, similar to that of the body. The back of the lid is then bordered by at least four belt panels which are each separated from the back by a fold line and connected, two by two, at the four corners of the back, in a folded position, to form a peripheral belt polygonal base that will engage the peripheral belt of the box body. Thus, the interlocking of the lid on the body provides a box easy to open and close.

  However, the flat shape of the lid back gives a relatively ordinary aesthetic to the box and is not always able to give a positive image of the content of the latter.

  Thus, it has emerged the need to have a new type of cover that is likely to offer a different conformation for the back, so as to give the cover aesthetics out of the ordinary.

  In order to achieve this object, the invention relates to a lid, for a polygonal-based packaging box, obtained by folding a pre-cut blank comprising: a back whose corners define a polygon at least four vertices, at least four waist panels bordering the back each being separated from the back by a fold line, É and, at the corners of the back, connecting means in pairs of the belt panels.

  According to the invention, the lid is characterized in that the fold lines, separating the belt panels from the back, are arched to impart a concave or convex shape to the back when the panels are folded to form a polygonal base belt.

  Thus, the arcuate shape of the fold lines makes it possible to depart from the traditionally flat shape of the back of the lid to adopt a concave or convex shape, depending on the desired aesthetic. In a preferred but not strictly necessary embodiment, the arcuate fold lines will be made to form arcs of circles having a radius of curvature greater than or equal to the largest dimension of the back of the lid. The invention can be implemented for producing caps with various regular polygonal bases, but is particularly suitable for producing rectangular base covers, the corners or corners of the back then defining a rectangle.

  According to one characteristic of the invention, the arcuate fold lines, separating the belt panels from the back, each have a concavity oriented towards the back. This orientation of the concavity of the fold lines thus makes it possible to confer a curved or convex shape on the back of the lid in plan view.

  According to another characteristic of the invention the fold lines, separating the belt panels from the back, each have a concavity, oriented towards the corresponding belt panel. This orientation of the concavity of the fold lines then makes it possible to obtain, as desired, according to the initial stress applied during assembly, a concave back or a convex back knowing that this orientation of the concavity of the arcuate folding lines is more particularly adapted to a concave conformation, in top view of the back of the lid according to the invention.

  According to the invention the connecting means, connecting the belt panels in pairs at the corners of the lid, can be made in any appropriate manner, such as, for example, by flaps each extending from a belt panel, to be attached to the inner face of the adjacent waist panel. Of course, the connecting means can be made in any other suitable manner.

  Thus, according to another characteristic of the invention, corresponding to a preferred but not strictly necessary embodiment, the connecting means, at each corner or corner of the cover, comprise two triangular sectors, each separated by a panel of adjacent belt by a fold line and separated from each other by a median fold line.

  In a preferred embodiment, the median fold line forms a bisector of the angle defined by the fold lines separating the triangular sectors from the adjacent waist panels.

  According to another characteristic of the invention, the fold lines separating the triangular sectors of the adjacent waist panels form a right angle.

  According to yet another characteristic of the invention, the fold lines, separating the triangular sectors of adjacent belt panels, form an obtuse angle. This latter embodiment is more particularly adapted to the formation of a lid whose back has a convex shape, seen from above.

  According to the invention, the immobilization of the belt panels in the folded position, in which they define the peripheral belt of the cover intended to fit on the complementary belt of a box body, can be made in any appropriate manner.

  According to one characteristic of the invention and in order to make it possible to put in volume or a reversible and easy assembly of the lid and without it being necessary to implement fixing or gluing means, the lid comprises locking means reversible belt panels in the folded position to form the belt of the lid. The reversible locking means then comprise: two against panels, which are fixed on the inner face of two opposite waist panels and which define, by their edges oriented towards the adjacent connecting means, locking stops, and two flaps of locking, articulated on the other two opposite waist panels and each equipped, at their edges facing the adjacent connecting means, two triangular locking tabs which are each separated from the corresponding belt panel by a fold line and which each comprise, opposite the folding line, a locking edge intended to abut on the corresponding edge of a backboard, so as to block the belt panels in the folded position.

  The implementation of such locking means thus allows the lid to be stored in a preformed state flat, before forming it for its final implementation.

  According to a characteristic of the invention and in order to contribute to the shaping of the back of the cover, each counterpanel is connected to the belt panel by a fold line and has, on the opposite side of the belt panel, an edge which presents a shape similar to the shape of the fold line separating the belt panel from the back.

  According to yet another characteristic of the invention and still in order to facilitate the conformation of the lid back, each locking flap comprises, opposite the corresponding belt panel, an articulated support strip, intended to bear on the inner side of the back and separated from the locking flap by a fold line which has a shape similar to the fold line separating the corresponding belt panel from the back. In a preferred embodiment, the fold line, between the support strip and the locking flap, is then symmetrical, with respect to the fold line separating the flap of the panel, from the fold line between the panel. belt and back.

  Of course, the various features of the invention mentioned above and compatible with each other can be combined to form a lid according to the invention.

  Moreover, various other features of the invention emerge from the following description made with reference to the accompanying drawings which illustrate non-limiting examples of embodiment of a cover according to the invention.

  Fig. 1 is a cross section of a concave back cover according to the invention.

In fig. 3 and in accordance with the convention adopted for fig. 2, the lines of contours and blank cuts are shown in continuous lines, while the fold lines are illustrated in phantom.

  Fig. 4 is a flat view of a pre-cut blank for obtaining a lid according to the invention having a convex back. In this figure and as for figs. 2 and 3, the cut and outline lines of the blank are shown in solid lines, while the fold lines are illustrated in broken lines.

  Fig. 5 is a section similar to FIG. 2, the lid, as obtained from the blank shown in FIG. 4.

  A lid, according to the invention, as shown in section in FIG. 1 and designated as a whole by the reference 1, can be obtained from a pre-cut flank F ,, as illustrated in FIG. 2.

  The lid 1 is intended to fit on a box body with a rectangular base and comprises a back 2 which is then bordered by four belt panels 3, 4, 5 and 6, from which it is separated by the fold lines 7 , 8, 9 and 10. As shown in FIG. 2, the fold lines 7, 8, 9, 10 define the four corners or corners of the back 2. The lid 1 is more particularly intended for a box with a rectangular base. According to an essential characteristic of the invention, the fold lines 7 to 10 are arcuate and, according to the illustrated example, have a concavity oriented towards the back 2. Again according to the illustrated example, each fold line 7 to 8 is defined by an arc a circle which has a radius of curvature, identical for each of them, and, in this case, greater than or equal to the largest dimension of the back 2, in this case, greater than or equal to along one diagonal of the latter.

  According to the illustrated example, the belt panels 3 to 6 are connected in pairs, at the corners or corners of the back 2, by connecting means 15. Said connecting means 15 comprise two triangular sectors 16 and 17 which are each separated from an adjacent waist panel by a fold line 18 which then defines an edge of the corresponding waist panel. The triangular sectors 16 and 17 are, furthermore, separated from each other by a median fold line 19 which is, in addition, a bisector of the angle formed by the fold lines 18. According to the example illustrated, the fold lines 18 form a right angle and the fold line 19 then extends to 45 of one and the other.

  According to the illustrated example, the cover further comprises reversible locking means of the belt panels 3, 4, 5, 6, in the folded position. These reversible locking means can be implemented during the mounting of the cover, without the use of auxiliary fastening means, such as glue.

  Thus, the reversible locking means comprise, firstly, two against panels 20 which extend in the extension of two opposite waist panels 3, 5, each being separated from the corresponding waist panel 3, 5 by a line 21. As shown in FIG. 2, each fold line 21 is rectilinear and extends perpendicular to the fold lines 18. Each against panel 20 is intended to be fixed on the inner face of the corresponding belt panel and has two edges 22 converging opposite the back 2.

  The two edges 22 then define locking abutments, as will appear below.

  The reversible locking means further comprises two locking flaps 25 which are hinged to the other two opposite waist panels 4, 6, separated therefrom by the fold lines 26. Each locking flap 25 then presents , at its edges oriented towards the adjacent connecting means 15, two locking tabs 27, from which it is separated by a fold line 28 substantially symmetrical with the fold line 18 with respect to the fold line 26. Each tab 25 has a triangular shape of which an edge 29 converges towards the fold line 18, to define a locking abutment against the corresponding edge 22 of the adjacent backboard, as will appear below.

  The shaping of the lid 1, from the Fe blank thus constituted, is carried out as follows.

  Firstly, the panels 20 are fixed on the inner face of the corresponding belt panel 3, 5, by any appropriate means, such as, for example, by gluing. At this stage, the lid is in a preconstituted state, in which it is likely to be stored flat until its final implementation.

  When a build-up of the lid is desired, the fold lines 7 to 10, 19 and 18 are formed, then the triangular sectors 16 and 17 are folded against each other and against the adjacent waist panel 4, 6 The mounting of the cover is continued by bringing each locking flap 25 against the corresponding waist panel 4, 6, so as to trap between the locking flap 25 and the corresponding waist panel 4 , 6, the triangular sectors 16, 17 folded.

  During this assembly, the adjacent waist panels are then placed at right angles to each other and the locking tongues 27 then come to press against the adjacent belt panel, their edges 29 being wedged against the edge 22 of the flap 20 corresponding.

  The shaping of the lid thus completed, the back 2 has a concave shape, as shown in FIG. 1. The cover 1 can then be engaged on a box body C, as shown in phantom in FIG. 1, having a rectangular base. Such a box body can be made in any suitable manner and FIG. 3 illustrates a possible embodiment of a pre-cut blank for obtaining such a box body. As will be understood by those skilled in the art upon reading FIG. 3, this blank is very close in its constitution to that of obtaining a lid according to the invention but differs in that, after folding, the bottom F of the box remains flat, insofar as the lines delimiting it are all straight.

  Fig. 4 illustrates another embodiment of the blank capable of constituting a lid according to the invention.

  According to this embodiment variant the fold lines 7 to 10, separating the back 2 of the belt panels 3 to 6, each have a concavity oriented towards the corresponding belt panel. In addition, the fold lines 18 delimiting the sides of the belt panels form, in pairs, an obtuse angle. The shaping of the lid, from such a blank 1, is carried out as previously explained and the lid obtained then has a convex back, as shown in FIG. 5.

  It will be noted that, in order to contribute to a better shaping of the cover 2, the panels 20 each have, opposite the fold line 21, an edge 30 having a shape similar to that of the fold line 7 or 9 separating the corresponding belt panel 3, 5 of the back 2, so as to be placed inside said fold line during against against fixing the backboard on the corresponding belt panel. Thus, the edge 30 is to be symmetrical with the folding line 7, 9 corresponding to the fold line 21 which has a substantially rectilinear shape.

  In the same way, always with a view to contributing to a better shaping of the back 2, each locking flap has, opposite the corresponding belt panel 4, 6, a support strip 32 which is separated from the flap. 25 by an arcuate folding line 33, such as the line 8, 10 separating the corresponding belt panel 4, 6 from the back 2. Each fold line 33 is then symmetrical with the fold line 8 or 10 with respect to the fold line 26 substantially rectilinear. Finally, each support strip 32 has, opposite the flap 25, an edge 34 parallel to the fold line 33.

  Thus, during the shaping of the cover 2, each support band 32 presses on the inner face of the back 2 and contributes to its shaping, as well as to the rigidity of the back region 2 located at the fold lines 7 to 10.

  Of course, the presence of the support strips 32 is not strictly necessary for the production of a lid according to the invention and various modifications can be made to the blank, as described above, without departing from the scope of the invention. .
