Abstract

1,269,475. Moulded egg boxes. DIAMOND INTERNATIONAL CORP. 4 Nov., 1969 [6 Feb., 1969], No. 54053/69. Heading B8P. [Also in Division E2] A moulded carton comprising a bottom tray 12, a cover 14 and an outwardly biased locking flap 20 is characterized by a lock between the front wall 22 of the cover 14 and the locking flap 20. This lock is formed by an indented wall portion 36 in the locking flap 20 and another indented wall portion 32, complementary in shape to the wall portion 36, in the front wall 22. An opening 28 is provided above the wall portion 32 through which the locking flap 20 may be engaged and depressed to permit the cover 14 to be opened. In a preferred embodiment the included angle between the indented wall portion (236, Fig. 7) and the transverse ledge (240, Fig. 7) formed above the wall portions (236) is slightly less than 90 degrees. In a further arrangement of the lock (Fig. 6) a bulge (141) having an indicia (143) is formed directly above the indented wall portion (136) in the locking flap (120).
