Abstract

1,011,628. Egg cartons. BRODRENE HARTMAN A.S. Oct. 1, 1964 [Nov. 13, 1963], No. 40052/64. Heading B8P. A moulded pulp egg carton comprising lower and upper parts 10, 12 hinged together has a hollow projection 40 extending from the part 10 which engages a slot 32 on the upper part so that a full carton can be lifted by gripping the upper part only. The projection has an undercut 44 and extends from a portion 18 of the lower part. A rib 42 on the upper part reinforces the slot 32. The projection is located in a slot formed in a marginal flange 26 on the lower part so that it does not protrude from the confines of the carton to interfere with other closely stacked cartons. The upper part may have individual recesses corresponding to those of the lower part.
