An egg or like container of the drawer and shell type has its drawer 1 formed of two matching moulded parts 3, 4 which may or may not be hinged together. A shell 2, having one or two open sides has tongues 11 provided on the end walls 10. Each tongue is formed by cutting out along a line 12, and folding about a line 13. Alternatively the tongue may be formed in the top of the shell as shown at 14, or in the marginal position shown at 15. Two tongues may be connected by a line of weakening 16 to form a tear strip.
