Abstract

829,814. Lawn mowers. WEBB & CO. Ltd., M. C., and TAYLOR, F. W. June 13, 1958 [June 20, 1967],No. 19417/67. Class 6(2). In a power driven lawn mower wherein the drive from the motor is transmitted by means of a belt 7 passing over a jockey pulley 13, the position of the pulley 13 is controlled according to the angular position of the handles 15 so that as the handles are raised the belt is tightened to take up the drive and on release the handles fall to move the pulley 13 to slacken the belt and disengage the drive. As shown the motor drives the cutters the roller 3 being driven by a chain drive from the cutter shaft. A bolt 18 in the handles 15 engages in a slot 19 to limit the movement of the handles. The pulley 13 is mounted in a plate 14 adjustably attached to the handles 15 to take up slack in the belt.
