Abstract

1391366 Mowers K MORTL 25 July 1972 [30 July 1971] 34756/72 Heading A1F In a disc mower, a series of disc shaped blade supports 1 carrying cutter blades are driven from a tractors p.t.o. 25 and belt drive 26 via a vertical sleeve 3 which has a bevel gear 24 at its upper end and carries at its lower part, the innermost blade support 4 and a toothed or chain wheel 10 which transmits power to the other cutters. The sleeve 3 is coaxially mounted on a vertical shaft 6 which is connected by a plate 8 to a beam 7 supporting the cutters and which allows the beam 7 to pivot in a horizontal plane between a range of positions. A stop 12 is provided to hold the beam in the required position and a bearing 11 and oil seal (not shown) is located in the beam 7 for the sleeve 3.
