Abstract
824,583. Partitions; door frames; metal parts. HACQUARD, P. Sept. 12, 1957 [Sept. 14, 1956; Feb. 11, 1957], No. 28823/57. Classes 20(2), 20(3) and 20(4) [Also in Group XIV] A partition wall includes a device for assembling together dismountable partition elements so as to stiffen the assembly and which comprises at least on one of the elements one or more movable hooking means co-operating with hooking features of the adjacent element, the hooking means having associated therewith positively actuated clamping control means. As shown in Fig. 1, the sides of a post 1 of square cross-section are provided with grooves 2 for reception of the connecting members of a box-structure panel 3 and comprising hooks 5 mounted on pins 9 and guided in the spaced-apart side portions 6 of members 4, the hooks being pivotally connected by straps 12, 15 to a vertical tie-rod 7 and engageable in slots 11 formed in the grooves 2. A clamping screw 17 for operating the hooks is engaged in the strap 15 and extends through a slot in the web 19 of a channel member 36 within the panel 3. For varying the height of the wall elements an adjusting screw 26 is engaged in a bell-shaped plate 29 secured to the floor. The panels 3 comprise face plates 33, 33a formed with inwardly flanged edges 34 and connected and stiffened by channel members 36 and omegasection members 37; heat and soundinsulating members 39 of corrugated board are arranged in the panels. An omegasection member 40 disposed on the tops of the panels receives transparent or translucid wall portions. In a modified form of hooking unit 42, Fig. 3, the hooks which extend through slots 48 in the web of a channel member 43 are connected by a rod 50 in the upper end of which is slidably fitted a plate 52 tapped to receive a screw 53a passing into a slot 55 in the lug 54 of the channel 43. The lug is disposed beneath the channel 58 of the panel and the screw passes into an open-ended slot 59 in the member. Posts 61, 62 forming the frame of a door 147 have associated therewith reinforcing structures 63 consisting of panels 64 attached to the posts by hooking elements, the posts and panels being adjustable in height by screws co-operating with sockets anchored to the floor. The posts may be reinforced and comprise oppositely-disposed channel members 78, 79 provided with grooves 80, 81 and connected by omega-section members 82, 83, the assembly being stiffened by channel members 86, 87 engaging the bottoms of the grooves and the flanges of the members 82, 83 and connected to each other by channel members 88, 89 engaging the bottoms of the grooves 84, 85 of the members 82, 83. Slots in the members 86, 87 receive a strip 90 for securing a cap 67. Decorative strips 166 and tables 173, 175 (see Group XIV) are secured to the panels.
