Abstract
1,246,682. Demountable partitions. MATERIELS POUR L'EQUIPEMENT RATIONNEL DE L'INDUSTRIE ET DU COMMERCE. 11 Oct., 1968 [11 Oct., 1967], No. 48414/68. Headings E1R and E1W. A demountable partition consists of panels as 34, 35, 36 supported in a framework comprising metal, e.g. extruded aluminium or aluminium alloy, or plastics framing members provided as uprights P 1 and crossbeams P 2 , the panels being supported, preferably with the interposition of packings 37, 38, by elongate cover members of section P 4 which by virtue of two pairs of flanges 25, 26 engage resiliently with flanges 2, 3 or 4, 5 on the framing members provided either two panel-receiving positions at opposite margins of the major faces of the framing members for receiving panels extending perpendicular to these faces or only a single such location of double the size at one margin, means being provided to hold the panels in place, e.g. cover plates P 3 provided with pairs of flanges which engage over clips 11 carried by the framing members. The uprights P 1 may be supported indirectly by floor and ceiling by fixing to foot and head planks by means of jacks with or without spring loading. The framing members may be connected by a. plate bolted to a crossbeam P 2 and bearing upstanding eye lugs through which pass a pin passing through holes in a pair of flanges 2, 3 of an upright P 1 . Steel plates 63 (Fig. 8, not shown) provided with struck up fixing lugs may be forced into grooves 62 in the uprights to locate the vertical edges of the panels.
