823,334. Air heating apparatus. BAIER, O., BAIER, L., BAIER, W., BAIER, W., BAIER, W., and SCHLUMPRECHT, E., [trading as BAIER K.-G., W.]. Nov. 1, 1957 [Nov. 10, 1956], No. 34137/57. Class 64(1) A space heater comprises a heat exchanger in which air is heated by hot gases from a liquid-fuel fired, substantially cylindrical combustion chamber 14 the air being delivered to the heat exchanger by a fan 5 of the radial intake and radial delivery type. In the form shown the heat exchanger comprises tubes 10 through which the air flows to a heated air outlet 12. Gases from the combustion chamber pass through slots 15, 16 in the combustion chamber wall and flow over the tubes 10 to a flue 17. A hinged flap 4 permits the proportions of fresh air from an inlet 2 and recirculated air from an inlet 3 to be regulated. Combustion air for the burner unit may be supplied by a further fan coaxial with the fan 13. Alternatively a forced draught for the combustion unit.may be provided by an induction fan and ejector.
