Abstract
563,112. Heating aircraft. TECALEMIT, Ltd., and LE CLAIR, C. C. S. Oct. 2, 1942, No. 13887. [Class 64 (ii)] [Also in Group X] Products from the combustion chamber 2 of a burner 1 pass through a tubular heat exchanger 5 in which air supplied by a blower 7 and passing from inlet 6 to outlet 8 is heated. The air is delivered into the aircraft through injectors 9 where it is mixed with entrained cool air to reduce it to the desired temperature. Air for combustion may also be supplied by fan 7, or from the hot air conduct 8, or may be drawn from the outside air by a forwardly-facing cowl, and its flow may be thermostatically controlled. The hot gas for heating the exchanger 5 may be the exhaust gas from the propelling engines.
