Abstract

820,545. Magnetic amplifiers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Sept. 4, 1956 [Sept. 7, 1955], No. 25668/55. Class 40 (9). A pair of back-to-back magnetic amplifiers each have positive feed-back windings energized from the output of a following electronic amplifier. As illustrated, two pairs of ferro-magnetic cores each have A.C. windings 3 energized from sources 4 with a load 7 and self-excitation winding 6 energized over rectifier 5. Common to all cores is a reference control winding 11, a variable control winding 12, differential and overall bias windings 8 and 9, and the feed-back winding 10. The electronic amplifier 2 has negative feed-back and includes the positive feed-back windings 10 in its anode circuit. The use of positive feed-back is said to reduce the response time of the amplifiers.
