Abstract

804,951. Magnetic amplifiers. NORDENKETAY CORPORATION. May 21, 1955, No. 14709/55. Class 40 (9). A magnetic amplifier comprises two pairs of reactors 25, 27 and 26, 28, each pair providing a balanced output during alternate half cycles of an H.F. power supply, the amplifier having a common input winding 33 to control a synchro resolver in the output circuit, negative feedback from the synchro resolver being applied to the amplifier by means of a common winding 33a. The feed-back path may include a stabilizing circuit or have a proportion of the input signal injected into it. As shown in Fig. 2, the reactors are connected between the ends of centre-tapped transformers, the output being filtered. If an harmonic generator is used as a power supply with a three terminal output, and the syncho resolver is provided with a three terminal input, the use of transformers is avoided.
