Abstract

742,886. Magnetic amplifiers. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Feb. 23, 1954 [March 16, 1953], No. 7188/53. Class 40 (4). In a self-excited magnetic amplifier carrying load current windings 1, 2 on respective saturable cores and having rectifiers 3, 4 connected in series with the windings,. a transient feed-back voltage is applied at terminals 7, 8 to the windings 1, 2 through a capacitor 10 and preferably a resistor 9 in series so that the resulting transient deviation in output current is extended in the manner indicated in Fig. 2. A modification for feeding direct current to the load is described with reference, to Fig. 3 (not shown).
