[Class 40 (iv)] In an amplifier of the kind in which the degree of saturation of a choke 4, 5 in the circuit of a local A.C. source is controlled by a winding 6 carrying the current to be amplified and the output is rectified, a portion of the rectified output is fed back to a further winding 8, through a phase-shifting condenser and/or inductance 9 if necessary, to produce an effect in opposition to that of the input signals.
