Class 137 [Also in Group XIII] Apparatus for producing a stream of refrigerated air acting as a cold screen before displayed goods comprises a casing 1 open at the bottom, enclosing an evaporator 9 or the like, and carrying a mounting 4, for a fan 3, rotated solely by the passage of air, having apertures 5, 6 level with the fan blades, a baffle 8 between the fan and the evaporator, a drip tray 10 beneath the evaporator carrying lighting means 11 and double side walls 13 for the casing having hinged flaps at the lower edges. The apertures 5, 6 in the fan mounting reduce the pressure of the inflowing air and provide openings through which dust &c. centrifugally separated from the air stream by the fan is thrown clear.
