Abstract

1493421 Refrigerators TYLER REFRIGEKATION CORP 26 March 1975 [4 April 1974] 12717/75 Heading F4H In a refrigerated display case 4 cooled air passes substantially only by slow, gravitational flow from an upper plenum chamber 6 through a perforated or porous plate 8 for diffusion into a space 12 housing a support tray 14 to a lower plenum chamber 16, the air being recirculated from the plenum 16 to the plenum 6 via a duct 24 housing air cooling means 26 and a fan 22 which maintains air in the upper plenum at a slightly greater pressure than that in the lower plenum. The support 14 may be perforate or imperforate and two secondary plenum chambers may be associated with the upper plenum to establish two diverging bands of slow moving air through the space 12. The low velocity of air over foodstuffs &c. on the support is stated to reduce drying thereof to a minimum.
