Abstract

1307763 Treating plants BROWN BOVERI & CIE AG 8 June 1970 [7 June 1969] 27571/70 Heading A1E [Also in Division F4] A conditioned atmosphere enclosure 1, particularly for plant growing, contained within a housing 6, is surrounded by a jacket space 7 through which conditioned air from an air conditioning unit 9 flows, part of the conditioned air passing through the enclosure 1 on its way back to the unit 9, the remainder passing back to the unit 9 directly from the jacket space 7. The flow of air from the space 7 through the enclosure 1 via apertures 8 and an adjustable perforated bottom plate is regulated by an adjustable exhaust fan 4. Unit 9 cools, heats, humidifies or dehydrates the recycled air as required. Some fresh air which may be predried or prehumidified may also be drawn into unit 9 past valve 26 and filter 12. Lights 17 in air cooled housing 16 radiate into enclosure 1 through glass covers 20 and 5 of the housing and the enclosure 1 respectively. Access doors (not shown) to the housing and the enclosure are provided, and an air exhaust 15 from the housing. The housing may be mounted on a travelling pallet 24 with its own refrigerating unit 25, or may be formed as a stationery structure.
