Abstract

An air convector comprises a casing (2) containing a heat exchanger (6) and a fan (7) arranged to cause a flow of air through said heat exchanger. Downstream of said heat exchanger there is provided a space (9) to contain articles to be thermally conditioned and a closable opening in the casing for access to said space. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Air convector This invention relates to an air convector having a space forthermally conditioning articles placed therein.
The fan convectors or refrigerating apparatuses generally used at present for room conditioning do notaccomplish the dual function ofthermallycon- ditioning the rooms in a building or house and atthe same time refrigerating drinks or other products.
The present invention provides an air convector comprising a casing containing a heat exchanger and a fan arranged to cause a flow of airthrough said heat exchanger, wherein there is provided downstream of said heatexchangera space to contain articles to be thermally conditioned and a closable opening in said casing for access to said space.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Fig. lisa perspective view of the invention; and Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the fan convector.
Referring to the above figures, a fan convector, generally denoted at 1, comprises a casing in the form of a cabinet (2) provided on its upper side (3) with orientable grates (4), while its lower side (5) is open.
The inside of said cabinet (2) accommodates a heat exchanger(6) and an air conveying fan (7) arranged below said heat exchanger (6) and adjacentthe open lower side (5).
One ofthe major sides of said cabinet (2) is provided with a door (8) for access to a loading space (9) provided with rod-like supports (10) parallel arranged with respect to the major sides of cabinet (2). The rod-like supports (10) are arranged in the space to form receiving shapes of conventional containers (11) and (12), particularly drink containers.
During the operation of fan convector (1), a low temperature fluid passes through the heat exchanger (6) and atthesametimetheconveying fan (7) generates an airflow which atthe intake is directed according to arrows "F" and at the delivery side is directed according to arrows "G", and which by passing through the heat exchanger (6) has its temperature lowered.
Before exiting from the grates (4), the low temperature airflow also laps the containers (11) and (12) placed on the rod-like supports (10), causing a lowering in temperature ofthe product therein contained.
Of course, in a practical embodiment, the above described invention may be modified as to shape, dimensions and material of space (9), as well as to the type and number of supports provided in the room, without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the following claims. Instead of refrigerating, the air convector of the invention could be arranged to heatthe air blown by the fan (7) and hence the articles in the space (9).
1. An airconvectorcomprising a casing containing a heat exchanger and a fan arranged to cause a flow of airthrough said heat exchanger, wherein there is provided downstream of said heat exchanger a space to contain articlesto be thermally conditioned and a closable opening in said casing for access to said space.
2. An air convector according to Claim 1,wherein the heat exchanger comprises a plurality of tubers through which a cooling fluid is passed.
3. An air convector according to Claim 1 or Claim 2, wherein support means is provided in said space to support articles therein, said support means allowing the passage of air around and in contact with said articles.
4. An airconvectoraccording to Claim 3, wherein said support means comprises a plurality of parallel rods.
5. An airconvectorsubstantially as herein described with reference to and as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
