878,201. Treating gases. GESELLSCHAFT FUR LINDE'S EISMASCHINEN A.G. Sept. 4, 1959, No. 30275/59. Class 55 (2). [Also in Group XIII] In water - cooling apparatus comprising a conduit 1, air is blown downwardly by a fan 3 into water sprayed upwardly from jets 9 and is then deflected through 180 degrees to pass in the direction of the arrows 12 between the side walls of the conduit 1 and of the collecting basin 5. The air passes through a wire mesh screen 7 which acts as an impingement separator.
