Abstract

802,856. Inductors. MASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON. Feb. 15, 1957 [March 6, 1956], No. 5286/57. Class 38 (2). A choke of high current-carrying capacity for D.C. installations comprises a coil of axially adjacent turns 13, separated by insulation rings 7, of an edgewise wound strip 1 which has holes 4 through which tie bolts 6 pass to hold the winding together. The internal diameter of the coil may be 5-20 times the width of the strip. The strip may be aluminium or aluminium alloy, 10 cms. wide and 10-20 mm. thick.
