Abstract

1383208 Transformers SOLARTRON ELECTRONIC GROUP Ltd 7 Aug 1972 [12 Aug 1971] 37947/71 Heading H1T A transformer having a low primary to secondary capacitance has its primary and secondary windings 20, 22 disposed coaxially in an annular cavity in a (ferrite pot) core 12 each winding being substantially enclosed in a respective electro-static screen 26. The screens each have a gap or an overlapping separated by insulation to prevent them from acting as shorted turns and may be continued along the leads to the windings and connected to the screens of screened cables. The screens may be of copper or copper impregnated tape or strip or the windings may be enclosed in annular conductive or copper coated or impregnated containers (Figs. 2 and 2a, not shown). The windings may be separated by annular metal disc screen 24 having its overlapping ends insulated at 27. A plurality of secondary windings, each with its own screen, may be provided.
