Abstract

1,032,815. Transformers; inductors. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS - G.m.b.H. Heading H1T. A cylindrical H.T. winding 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 for a transformer or reactor has the inter-coil insulation 22, 23, 24, 25 flanged outwardly and interspaced with insulating angle rings 31, 32, 33, 34 to form a crooked path for the cooling oil, the inner deflections 45<SP>1</SP>, 44<SP>1</SP>, 43<SP>1</SP>, 42 in the direction of oil movement occurring at the ends of the winding coils or at shield rings arranged axially while some or all of the outer deflections 44, 43, 43 occur at control shield rings such as 11, 12, 13, 14 which limit the radial oil passages and are connected to appropriate coils. The control shield rings are made of insulating material coated with conducting or semiconducting material. They may have different internal diameters (Fig. 4, not shown) and some of them may be omitted (Fig. 7, not shown) when an aperture may be made in an angle ring to provide an oil path (45). The shield rings may also act as pressure rings.
